Full Circle

Uni has brought about 3 ocassions of Glandular Fever, Easter has brought about 2 cases of Liver problems. Not the sort of circle you want. Am i cursed or is it just a freak coincidence?

Bad things happen to good people, or so they say, what does that make me? Am i a good or a bad person? Bad things don't seem to happen to me, well to the extent of illness or injury, but what does that mean?

Please don't play with me my paper heart will bleed

What's more important, your happiness, or someone elses? If you had the chance to make sure a friend was happy, but in doing so messed around with your own sanity, would you do it? Is it more important to see a friend happy knowing that you've unleashed a demon upon yourself, or be able to sleep well at night, and hoping someone else will do it instead?

Ball Boy nets last minute equaliser for his side

Not about me, but its just something i found really funny.
With time running out, Santacruzense, 1-0 behind to Atletico Sorocabo, pushed forward for a free kick. A Santacruzense striker could only send the ball into the side netting, and it looked destined for them to lose the match. As the players were heading back to defend, the ball boy moved the ball forward and kicked the ball into the net past the keeper. With the linesmen and referee looking the wrong way, the sight of the ball in the back of the net when they turned around was a shock, and after consulting the linesman the referee decided to award the goal, gifting Santacruzense a draw.

Belgium and Wales

Don't really want to write a full diary(mainly because I probably wouldn't finish it) so I thought i'd just write down some of the highlights

While On Holiday I...

...watched people go on their holidays to such exotic places as 'De Pinte Station' (drink anyone?) and Moscau
...realised slate IS as boring as it looks, if not more so
...was one letter away from the capitol of the World(Aalter)
...went through places like Asse and Beeram(sure you don't want a drink?)
...saw the Worlds Smallest(probably) ice Cream
...visited the Worlds Smallest(definately)House
...celebrated Christmas and two Birthdays
...visited two beaches, one British, one with sand
...adopted a fish
...time travelled to the 80's and became a number, not a name.
...hitchhiked (Successfully:D)

I think thats all

[Edit]: Oh, and one I forgot

...got propositioned by a prostitute(and that was in Manchester)

Look Back

I think, out of the three terms, this last one has been the best one for me. No, not because of the lack of work, or the fact that it has been by far the shortest of the terms. Two weeks of lectures and one and a half of exams left me finished with uni for the term and year after just 4 short(but busy weeks)

As a person i feel i have progressed much more than in the previous few months. I feel much more comfortable in the surroundings and i got much closer to my future housemates over the last few weeks than I had in the year before. Always a good sign!
The late night Mario Kart/Smash Bros./Pro Evo/Timesplitters matches as well as 4am take aways are moments i will remember for a long time and moments that will no doubt be repeated next year.

For the future, i have a month at Westhoughton(gettin paid to watch people do exams, what fun!!!) lots of partying, then probaly more work before i head off back to Nottingham for a few weeks partying before lectures.

Info on my bday party will be released in the next few days.

Welcome to 2006

Hello, and Happy New Year to everyone! In the next few days hopefully I should get My personal review of 2006, and of course a post on the happenings of the last week of my life (incase any of you are on Mars, I was in Belgium....) This message is just to hope everyone has been having a good start to the year (and end to the last one) and to say enjoy the time at Uni, there's not many days to go, but just feel sorry for people who are studying at Warwick who started this week (one of Bens friends even had an exam on Tuesday) and just be glad you didn't go there.....

Edit: Review of my trip to Belgium posted below

I spent a minute on your Lips, and I'll spend a lifetime on your Hips

Here goes, taken me a while to write this one up:

So, I'm back from Belgium, again, and definately not for the last time, feeling sad, again, and wishing I could be back there. Time flys by too much and a week definately wasn't long enough.

The week started with a trip into Manchester with Scott and Paul for a bit of CD shopping and just a general get together. I managed to buy 4 cds in Fopp (that place is just too good, lol) and after grabbing lunch at Philpotts(well, my dinner, their lunch) I went to the station to find my seat in First Class (ah the luxury, lol) for the beginning of the journey. By 9 40 that night(Belgian time) I was on my way to Ben's house, and then quickly from there to the first party of the week at Aude's. A couple of hours, and a good few drinks(Jupiler) later, we were on our way back to Bens, but not before stopping off at his friends to watch an episode of Little Britain (they are all quite obsessed, and since knowing Ben, I have become so too)
The next day(Thursday apparently) we headed off to Aude's again, but this time for lunch, and then into Brussels for abit of a look around.

Less than an hour later, after having attempted to grab a drink to no avail, we were on the move again, this time to take me to Inge's house. After getting a drink in a Lokeren bar(but no alcohol for me thanks to a certain woman :P) Ben headed back to Brussels (another party I think) and Inge and I went to a bar to have something to eat, before we caught the bus back to Inge's house. On the way I managed to learn (most of) the Dutch alphabet.(although, sadly, I've forgotten it) At Inge's we spent abit of time on the computer, in amongst watching some Dutch TV, before watching Princess Diaries 2 late into the night (a movie I had gotten for her), although we only really watched about half of it. We kissed, which was cool to say the least, then we then stayed up until 6 30 am talking, before heading to bed quite tired.

The next day I was woken around 11, and went downstairs to find Inge already awake. We decided against our original plans of going to Brugges, and instead decided to laze around the house and watch the rest of the Princess Diaries. After that we listened to some music, before Femke came round to watch Scream and then to play some cards (I think I won, lol. Definately did better than Inge :p) That evening we went on the computer, and watched Ice Age, before going to bed much earlier than the previous night, but still around 2am.

The next day was New Years Eve, and after New Years Dinner, we headed off to the train station to go to Brussels. An uneventful train journey later and we were picked up by Ben and Aude and headed off to the party. Not gonna say much about the party, wasn't the best, but was still enjoyable. The stroke of midnight was good though. Getting covered in Champagne, and getting a New Years Kiss were definately moments to savour.
We headed back to Bens around 4 in the morning leaving the house in quite a state, and then falling asleep very quickly.

First day of the New Year, and I changed my plans to go back to Inge's for another day, and after a very eventful train journey and a funny confuctor (yes Inge, i admit he got me laughing, but not cos of the reason u found him funny:P) we arrived back in Lokeren around midday. On the bus trip back to Inge's I managed to learn the Dutch alphabet, and then almost immediately forget it. But i have learnt to count to 3 in Dutch, so at least i got somewhere, lol. Once again we lazed around the house, and spent a while in Inge's room listening to music and doing some "horizontal hugging" as Wilko calls it. It was another late night before heading off to sleep.

The final full day in Belgium, and I had to say goodbye to Inge at the train station before heading off to Brussels again. The train journey was quite boring, with there being a 10minute stop off at one station for unknown reasons... That evening we headed to two bars that Ben and his friends hang out at, the first one had Stella on tap, and the second one, apparently the cheapest bar in Brussels, Maes, which is even nicer than Stella, and also had some weird Belgian Pool game. We left quite late that night quite merry and went for one last episode of Little Britain, before going back to Bens to sleep.

The next day was very uneventful, got the train from Brussels to London, where i was sat next to one of Ben's friends quite surprisingly, and then the train from London to Manchester in First Class again, and then a lift back home.

And thats that. It was a week I will never forget, and i've become much closer with Inge because of it :) Best friends forever!!!!!!!!!!!

And i'm a million different people from one day to the next

I am everything you want, I am everything you need, I am everything inside of you that you wish you could be, I say all the right things at all the right times but I mean nothing to you and I don't know why

There are monsters here, it dares you to scream, it makes no sense, it makes no sense at all.

Sugar we're going down swinging, i'm your number one with a bullet, a loaded gun complex, cock it and pull it.

You're that star up in the sky, you're that mountain peak up high.....you're the little ray of hope, when my backs against the rope.

I watched the change in you.

I was crying over you. I am smiling, I think of you.....Nothing can compare ... and you swear your loves for me.

If you wanted honesty thats all you had to say.....Trust me.

You're just the best i ever had.

We'll play out our last scene

I never said I'd lie and wait forever, if I did we'd be together.....And all the things that you never ever told me, and all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me.

From you my love, just one look and everything is shattered.

Its always you, in my big dreams.

Do you hear my heart beating?

The most I could do was to just blame myself......Would you like to forget?

Open your eyes, Open your mind

Girl Eyes, tend to hypnotize.

You want it all but you can't have it

Deep dark and devastating, leaving no question as to where you've been.

I'm insane, its your fault.....Forgive me father why should you bother now.

Whats the worst that I could say......Well if you carry on this way, things are better if I stay, so long and goodnight.

All I want for Christmas is you!

My musical journey of a part of yesterday. If you can name them all, then theres a prize for you

A poem, by Purple Ronnie....I mean Chris Paddon

Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom

Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't have any fun,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't even like the sun,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom went to the zoo,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom spent it on the loo,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom wanted to go in the sky,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom were afraid to fly,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom went to Wales on holiday,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom watched the chickens lay,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't go to the football,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom were answering Business Calls.

Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't like spontaneity,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't like treating girls like a deity,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't like to cook,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom preferred to read a book,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom didn't watch tele,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom said it made them horny,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom couldn't get it up,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom blamed it on her rump,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom had a girl in bed,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom fell asleep instead.

Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom spent the night on the phone,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom were always alone,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom lived lonely lives,
Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom dug their own graves.

- Chris Paddon

This poem is dedicated to Mr Boring and Dr. Boredom themselves, James and Paul

Death of a Friend

Tonight, a very sad event occured. Mr PJ Clarke officially gave up on life just after 6p.m. local time. He will be sorely missed by all his friends and family(apart from maybe his siblings)

How could this happen you may ask? Well he has turned down the offer to go to an amazing concert, even when told that he could take 9months to pay back the measly £30 he would owe for the concert.

Please do not let him give up on life!

I HATE NOTTINGHAM AND ALL THE FUCKING INHABITANTS!!!

In case you hadn't heard(so everyone except Kat and Clarkey who was kind enough to keep me occupied on the phone last night when I really needed it), my laptop was stolen from my room last night. Apparently laptops arent covered on the insurance for the rooms either, so unless I can claim on Mum and Dads insurance, im pretty much screwed. Once i get a new laptop, expect me to be knicking your music collections, and pictures from this summer.

Music to fall asleep to?

Late last night, as I tried to get to sleep, but failed, I was thinking about music(as you do...) and how it fits into moods, and I realised that infact there are songs and albums for every single mood, whether you want to jump around, chill, or just listen to late night music, there is something for you. I also wondered, if there was a perfect album to fall asleep to, one that you enjoy obviously, but just helps you make that final step into the land of nod. What would this album need, for it to be enjoyable when you are not wanting to fall asleep, but that extra bit better when you do. It must be quiet and relaxing to start with, otherwise you have no chance of falling asleep. But should it be accoustic, based on piano/keyboards, or what? Surely a southing voice would be necessary. What i want to know, is if you were desperate to get to sleep, and would play one album to help you, which would it be?

For me, it was Snow Patrol's Final Straw. As a whole, it is a great album, with great tunes, but its when listening to this album in the dark that i have found the real magic behind it. Its one i have laid awake in bed listening to before, and the one I used last night, although I did not fall asleep while it was on last night, but I know that I have done it before. The lyrics are just magical when you are relaxing, as are the tunes. Run, may well be one of the most famous songs, but it is a very relaxing tune that doesnt involve an upbeat mood to enjoy(as i have realised on many occasions before)

Another favourite of mine is The Verve's Urban Hymns. Not exactly the sort of album that would get you jumping up and down to, but definately one that is thoroughly enjoyable, and memorable (everyone knows Bittersweet Symphony, and probably The Drugs Don't Work), but its another album that can be classed in the "Late Night Music" catagory.

What i want to know, is what everyone's opinions on what would make the perfect album to fall asleep to, what makes the perfect songs for this catagory, and what you would listen to to do so?
